Compost is a mixture of ingredients used to fertilise and improve the soil. Compost is commonly prepared by decomposing plant and food waste via a composting process to recycle the organic materials. Compost is used to improve the soil fertility in gardens, landscaping, horticulture, urban agriculture and organic farming.
