BTG's activities

BTG has a strong reputation and highly-relevant international experience as developer of innovative bioeconomy technologies. The company's RTD is well known for its propriety biomass flash pyrolysis technology, which since mid- 1990’s it has successfully developed all the way through to TRL 9, and which is successfully commercialised through its spin-off company BTG-Bioliquids.

The business unit BTG Consultancy provides advisory services and technical assistance. A comprehensive package of services is offered, covering the whole value chain: biomass availability, sourcing, logistics & pre-treatment; conversion, markets and applications as well as interdisciplinary aspects such as sustainability, Life Cycle Assessments, financial analyses, legal and regulatory issues, public acceptance etc. BTG covers these aspects of the bioeconomy and on bio-based products in the context of various national and EU projects. Moreover, BTG is coordinator of a considerable number of EU projects.

BTG is initiator and active member of international, national and regional bioeconomy and bioenergy clusters and networks including the Leaders of Sustainable Biofuels (LSB), the Netherlands’ Platform Biomass Energy (PBE) and the Bioenergy Cluster Oost Nederland (BEON).
